The product
- OB Commander is a file manager for Windows 10 / 11, distributed as a downloadable, portable application.
- Use of the software is governed by its End User License Agreement (EULA). If these terms and the EULA differ, the EULA prevails.
- Non-commercial use of the basic features is free. Non-commercial means personal use on your own devices, with no connection to any business, job, profession or organisation, and no income from it.
- Commercial use — any other use, including use for a company, organisation, government body, school or non-profit, and use in employment, freelance or self-employed work, even at home — requires a licence for each user after a free 30-day evaluation. If it is unclear whether a use is commercial, it is.
- Pro features, such as remote SFTP, require a licence even for non-commercial use.
Your files
- OB Commander performs real operations on real files. Deletions go to the Recycle Bin by default and can be undone from inside the app or from Explorer.
- Some operations cannot be undone — among them deleting over SFTP, where the remote system has no Recycle Bin. Keep backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.
- You are responsible for the operations you confirm.
Licences
- Starting a trial or activating a licence key contacts our licence server once and binds the activation to that computer; after that the program checks the licence offline. A licence can be activated on the number of computers stated at purchase, and you can deactivate a computer from inside the program to move the licence.
- A licence is issued to one named person — the purchase email encoded in the key and shown in the program's About box — and may be used only by that person. It cannot be transferred without our written consent.
- Licence keys may not be shared, published or resold. Keys that are shared, published, obtained fraudulently or refunded may be blocked, for new activations and in future versions, without refund.
- We decide which features are Pro features and may change this in future versions.
Payments & refunds
- Payments are processed by Creem, the merchant of record for your purchase: Creem takes the payment, charges any applicable sales tax or VAT and issues your receipt. Creem's terms also apply to the checkout.
- Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax. Any tax is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay.
- A licence is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It covers the Windows version of OB Commander, including the updates we release for it, and does not include versions for other operating systems.
- Time-limited prices, such as a launch price, apply only to orders placed within the stated period. Price differences are not refunded for orders placed before or after it.
- You can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing support@obcommander.com with your order number. The licence key is deactivated when the refund is issued. After 14 days, purchases are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
Acceptable use
- You may not redistribute, sell, host or bundle the software without our written permission; share links to the official download instead.
- You may not reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the software, or circumvent its licence checks.
- Custom commands you define in the config file run external programs with your own user privileges — review any command line you copy from someone else before running it.
Warranty & liability
- OB Commander is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages or for loss of data, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us for your licence in the twelve months before a claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and the EULA. Changes are noted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of OB Commander after a change constitutes acceptance.
